*Fee: $75.00 Number of Sessions: One Time: One Hour *Follow Up Lessons: Standard lesson fees apply, please see ~ Bring the Classroom to Your Home. Location: In Home Session, we come to you! (Also offered at our Training Facility in Orangevale.) Ages: All ages (puppies, adolescents, adults, or seniors) Requirements: Must be able to provide written proof your new puppy or dog has came to you from a Registered Non-Profit Rescue Organization or Shelter within the last 60 days. Time Frame to Qualify for Discounted Lesson Fee: Within 30 days of adoption. You will be asked to provide a copy of your adoption paperwork for your Rescue puppy or dog: verification required. Training Method: For owners who wish to train their new puppy or dog with "positive" methods. Exclusion: Aggression Issues and Extreme Behavior Issues. *Additional Travel Fees: See "Additional Information" section below. |

Examples of what may be covered in your lesson: Dog Proofing your home (inside and out) House Training and Crate Training Management Puppy or Dog Evaluation Tips on toys, exercise, training options, leadership skills, how to avoid problems (how best to set your new friend up to succeed), and training equipment. Goal of this lesson is to help new a new puppy or a new dog from a Rescue Group or Shelter to settle into your home, with the easiest transition possible, for them and for your family. We love to see puppies and dogs get a second chance with a new family, in hopes it will be their lifelong and happy home.

Days and Times Offered: Tues. - Fri. by appointment. Mornings, Afternoons, and some Evening options. *Additional Travel Fees: *Due to increased fuel costs some areas may have additional charges based on distance and travel time (after 4:00p.m.). *For example: a minimum $30.00 additional fee is added to the hourly lesson fees for Rocklin, some areas of Folsom, El Dorado Hills, Cameron Park, Elk Grove, & West Sacramento. For other areas in question, please call or e-mail. "Thank You". Behavior Issues: If your newly adopted puppy or dog is already exhibiting behavior problems that have you concerned or scared, please call us prior to your first lesson! Examples: Handling Issues, Growling, Snarling, Resource Guarding (food, toys, or you), Leash Aggression, Fear of People, etc. For dogs showing signs of aggression: referrals will be provided to Trainers &/or Behaviorists specializing in those specific issues in the Sacramento Area and Bay Area. Cancellation Policy: Lessons are by appointment therefore we require students who need to reschedule or cancel a lesson to provide The Right Steps a 24 hour notice. To receive a full refund or not be charged the full lesson price students must cancel in advance by 24 hours. Ethic Statement: For students or potential students whose dogs have behavior issues which would be better addressed by a "Dog Behaviorist" or "Dog Trainer who Specializes in the specific issue of concern" referrals will be provided to those specializing in positive methods for these areas of expertise.
