The Right Steps Puppy Primer Facility Rules
Please make sure all persons attending the class are aware of the Facility Rules. Please initial each paragraph and sign at the bottom.
___The Right Steps Training Facility has a gate at its entrance that functions as a double lock. If anyone is in the space between the front door and the gate, please wait to open the front door. When entering the facility, be sure the front door is completely closed before opening the gate and be sure to close the gate behind you. This helps to ensure the safety of the puppies during the class.
___Potty areas are limited to the indoor facility potty and the fire hydrant near the street. The bushes and planters in the parking lots, as well as the surrounding residential areas, are off limits. Always clean up after your puppy. Carry plastic bags for quick and easy cleanup. *Note: for puppies under 16 weeks of age who have not been fully vaccinated please utilize indoor litter box. While the rubber floor will not absorb urine, if your puppy urinates on an area where it interlocks, it needs to be taken apart and cleaned after class. Circling the area with chalk will help me locate the area later. Chalk can be found on the windowsill and on both white shelves.
___ There is parking available in front of the Right Steps. There is limited parking to buildings to the left, however, please do not take the last four spaces as they need parking for their clients and employees (although these businesses are mostly closed on Saturdays, they do occasionally schedule client appointments). There is NO PARKING along the side of the building. If any parking questions, please ask.
___ Parents are responsible for their children’s actions and interactions with puppies and other puppy owners at all times. For both the safety of children and puppies, children and puppy interactions must be positive and parent/guardian supervised at all times. In some instances it may be required one adult for one puppy and one adult for the child or children. There is no running or screaming in facility and children must stay with their parents at all times. Please be courteous of other Owners, their puppies, and The Right Steps.
___One adult owner minimum required per puppy.
___Your subsequent classes will start at 10:00am. The 15 minutes prior to class time is for the new puppies to acclimate. If you arrive early, please don’t enter the building. The class runs for 4 weeks. If you miss a class, you will need to notify me of your intent to continue by 5pm the following Monday or I will take you off the schedule. Due to the rotating structure of the class, it is not possible to make up a missed class.
___ In addition to the Puppy Primer Class, the Right Steps offers Jr. and Sr. Puppy Classes for puppies to learn basic skills such as sit, down, stay, come, heel, and walking nicely on leash. Maximum 7 puppies per class. Classes are 45 minutes plus a 30 minute complimentary off leash play session. Advanced obedience classes (Puppy Plus & an Advanced Dog Class) are offered for puppies who have completed The Right Steps Jr. or Sr. Puppy Class. A Small Dog Play Group offers small breed dogs over 16 weeks of age, who play nicely, an opportunity to play with dogs their own size. Private, Semi-Private, and Private Group Lessons are offered in the training In the Facility, In-Home, & Offsite. Please check our website for discount packages and specials that may be offered.
