Benefits: Schedule "before" picking your dog! This lesson is geared on "owner education". Our goal is to give you the tools to help you pick the right puppy or dog for your family, make a pre-puppy or dog shopping list, look over inside of your home, back yard, & vehicle to puppy/dog proof/trouble shoot potential problem areas. Prepping for choosing your New Friend.... *Save money, frustration, & potential heartache by taking the time to think before jumping in with both feet on choosing your new best friend!! *Before choosing your new best friend you will want to use your head first (make an educated decision), then your heart. You will be making a decision that will effect both you, your family, and your new dog for many years to come as some breeds live well into their late teens. *Choosing your new best friend should be done first with research of what puppy or dog will best suit your family and lifestyle. This decision will affect you, your pets, and family not only now but in the future as your dog ages in to senior status. *Our "Personalized Consultation" is designed to assist you in making an educated decision before your choose your new dog or puppy. *We discuss your needs and lifestyle. Also we discuss breed group pros and cons, mixed breeds versus pure breeds, age choices pros and cons (puppies, adolescents, adults, and seniors), male or female, exercise and grooming needs, as well as options of where to look for your new best friend. *Go over puppy &/or dog proofing your home and yard. Additional Options: *Go shopping at PetSmart or Petco to help prep for your new puppy or dog (hourly rate applies of $75.00). *Go to shelters or rescue groups with you locally to look at options available for the right fit for your family (discounted rate of $50.00 an hour applies). © 2006 The Right Steps & Cindy C. Additional Information Days and Times Offered: Tues. - Fri. by appointment. Mornings, Afternoons, and some Evening options. *Additional Travel Fees: *Due to increased fuel costs some areas may have additional charges based on distance and travel time (after 4:00p.m.). *For example: a minimum $30.00 additional fee is added to the hourly lesson fees for Rocklin, some areas of Folsom, El Dorado Hills, Cameron Park, Elk Grove, & West Sacramento. For other areas in question, please call or e-mail. "Thank You". Cancellation Policy: Lessons are by appointment therefore we require students who need to reschedule or cancel a lesson to provide The Right Steps a 24 hour notice. To receive a full refund or not be charged the full lesson price students must cancel in advance by 24 hours. Ethic Statement: For students or potential students whose dogs have behavior issues which would be better addressed by a "Dog Behaviorist" or "Dog Trainer who Specializes in the specific issue of concern" referrals will be provided to those specializing in positive methods for these areas of expertise.
